Our Colonial Ancestors

I am inserting this page to supplement Josephine Goodman’s stories because in my 20 years of my own Goodman genealogy research I have found considerable new evidence for our family’s ancestors before Amos Goodman, the first person named in Anselm and Nancy (Fowler) Goodman’s family bible pages. In the same vein of story telling, I have written what I think are reasonably accurate and interesting personal stories about the individuals I believe to be our ancestors. Because Josephine’s stories begin only a couple of recent generations back, I am also including stories about our ancestors Amos Goodman and Anselm Goodman, the grandfather and father respectively of Socrates Goodman, where Josephine’s stories start.
